• Job description :
• - BOSK is an innovative Canadian company that offers an eco-responsible alternative to petrochemical plastics. The company develops, manufactures, and distributes PHA-based, 100% bio-based and compostable bioplastics to reduce the global accumulation of plastic waste. BOSK is a key player in the fast-growing bioplastics industry
• - They are currently looking for a Technical Director, the position is located in Quebec.
• - Your role will be to support plastic product manufacturers in the transition to BOSK's compostable bioplastics. These customers are located all over the world and demonstrate a strong interest in developing new products from BOSK's bioplastics

Exemple de tâches à réaliser

• Example of tasks to be performed :
• - Act as an expert in the product
• - Identify and understand customer needs in plastic processing, through the study of "technical sheets", manufacturing technologies and properties of BOSK bioplastics and its components (biopolymers, biosourced ingredients)
• - Identify technical applications with high commercial potential for BOSK bioplastics
• - Meet with customers to refine and assess plastic raw material requirements and needs
• - Carry out the co-design of finished products with manufacturing customers (sharing of information and solutions to optimize the finished product and/or the manufacturing process to the customer's satisfaction)
• - Issue recommendations to customers to optimize the bioplastics transformation process
• - Respond to punctual requests from customers and production employees regarding plastics and bioplastics
• - Collaborate with the external research team for the adaptation of products to customer satisfaction
• - Establish an action plan (customer trials, tests, iterations) and a timeline leading to the marketing of finished products
• - Follow up on action plans with multiple clients at once to meet deadlines
• - Work closely with the production team
• - Propose avenues for improvement for new products and manufacturing methods
• - Coordinate/participate in quality control activities and performance measurements of developed/produced formulations
• - Participate in product certification activities (compostability and others)
• - Participate in external committees related to the production, use, certification of Bosk bioplastics
• - Report as requested to senior management for status of ongoing activities, strategic/business implications

Formation requise

• Education and experience :
• - Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or equivalent education
• - 6 to 7 years of experience as a technical director in the plastics industry
